Mission Statement

The Compassion ministry's goal is to care for those in need in our church body and the Upper Valley emphasizing God's love in both word and deed. We are attempting to lead the church in the biblical mandate from 1 John 3:17-18:

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

and James 2:14-17:

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Service Opportunity

The Compassion Ministry is looking for additional volunteers to conduct interviews with people who come to the church in need of financial assistance, as well as to help in the Thursday afternoon and evening food pantry. This is a great opportunity to share the gospel, pray with people, and provide direct support for their physical needs. Meeting times can be flexible, and training is available. Come join a team that has a heart for ministering to the weary and heavy-laden, and experience the joy of pointing people to the source of the great hope that is within us!
